Most works are for the standard orchestral brass quintet:

• 2 Trumpets (Bb or C)
• Horn
• Trombone
• Tuba

In some cases, Timpani and/or Organ are either optional or required. Other possibilities may include antiphonal trumpets, orchestra bells, or hand drum.
